Quality & Continuous Improvement Manager

Bruce Rock Engineering – Forrestfield, Perth, WA

Are you passionate about building a culture of quality and driving operational excellence? At Bruce Rock Engineering (BRE), we're looking for a dynamic Quality & Continuous Improvement Manager to lead our quality control function while spearheading our Lean Manufacturing transformation. This is a pivotal role, with approximately 50% of your time dedicated to lean initiatives, positioning you as our organisation's Lean Leader.

Where you'll make an impact

Reporting to the Head of Manufacturing and leading the Quality Control team, you will:

Quality Management

  • Ensure all products and processes meet customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain compliance with ISO 9001:2015 and align with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 intent.
  • Oversee non-conformance management, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Apply A3 and 8D problem-solving methodologies for robust issue resolution.
  • Partner with Engineering and Production to embed quality at every stage.
  • Drive continuous improvement across quality systems, documentation, audits, and reporting.

Lean Leadership

  • Lead BRE's lean manufacturing program, dedicating ~50% of your role to transformation initiatives.
  • Coach, mentor, and empower staff at all levels to adopt lean tools and principles.
  • Facilitate Kaizen events, value stream mapping workshops, and 5S implementation.
  • Drive waste reduction initiatives across the 8 Wastes of Lean.
  • Track progress and deliver measurable improvements in efficiency, safety, and cost.
  • Champion change, foster collaboration, and build accountability into everyday operations.

How You'll Lead

You bring energy, enthusiasm, and a proven record of shifting culture while improving processes. You're equally confident in the workshop or boardroom and know how to translate lean theory into practical action.

What sets you apart:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or related field.
  • Lean Management certification or Six Sigma Black Belt.
  • 5+ years in a Lean Manager or similar role within manufacturing, logistics, or related industries.
  • Strong experience with Lean methodologies and tools: 5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, A3, and 8D.
  • Hands-on project delivery and change management experience.
  • Skilled communicator, coach, and facilitator with a track record of cultural and operationalimprovement.
