We are a thriving shopping centre located in Melbourne's eastern suburbs, and due to ongoing business growth, we are seeking a Part-Time Financial Accountant to join our dynamic team. This role offers flexibility (24–30 hours per week over 5 shorter days), making it ideal for someone seeking work-life balance.

Your duties would include:

· Assist with monthly rental invoicing and ensure all transactions are accurately recorded, reconciled, and compliant with regulations.

· Assist with raising recharge invoices to tenants.

· Raise purchase orders and review expenses against budget, ensuring correct accrual and coding.

· Assist with account payable by entering invoices and processing payment

· Perform daily accounting duties including bank and credit card reconciliations, and arrears collection.

· Assist in lease management and tenant accounts.

· Prepare monthly financial statements and balance sheet reconciliations.

· Accurately prepare and process general journal entries.

· Support the preparation of annual budgets and monthly forecasts.

· Collaborate with the Financial Manager to provide insights that drive operational efficiency.

· Support the team with ad hoc projects as required.

Ideally you would possess:

· Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.

· Progress toward CPA or CA qualification (preferred).

· Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting or finance roles.

· Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.

· Proficient in general ledger accounting, AP/AR, reconciliations, and month-end processes.

· Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas).

· High attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.

· Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

· Ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.

· Collaborative team player who can also work independently.

· Knowledge of compliance, audits, or taxation is a plus.

· Experience with MRI software is highly regarded.

· Previous experience in the retail or property industry is desirable.
