The Role:

We're seeking a strategic and dynamic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead our financial/business operations across the Austunnel Group of businesses and Family entities, based at our Richmond Head Office. As CFO, you'll drive financial strategy, oversee budgeting, payroll, administration and compliance, and ensure our financial systems support our growth. Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing financial strategies to support Austunnel's project portfolio.
  • Managing payroll (200+ employees), accounts, and taxation compliance.
  • Leading and building the Finance, Accounts, and Administration team to ensure high performance.
  • Overseeing cashflow, banking, and insurance for operational efficiency.
  • Supporting the Managing Director with high-level financial insights.
  • Ensuring compliance with Australian regulations and industrial agreements.
  • Managing the Melbourne head office operations.
  • Managing licences across the organisation.
  • Ensure timely reporting and submission of Progress Payment Claims.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
  • 10+ years in senior financial management, ideally in construction or mining.
  • Expertise in XERO, Astute Payroll, UKG, and advanced Excel skills.
  • Proven leadership of finance teams and strong stakeholder communication.
  • MBA or postgraduate qualification highly desirable.
