We're on the hunt for a passionate Sous Chef to join our crew at Three Blue Ducks Byron Bay - perched on an 80-acre working farm with stunning views of the hinterland and Byron's iconic lighthouse. It's a pretty special place to work, and we like to think we've built a team that's just as great.
We're a tight-knit kitchen that values creativity, hard work, and good banter. We're serious about the food we serve - local, seasonal, and thoughtful - but we don't take ourselves too seriously. It's all about teamwork, good energy, and making sure everyone feels part of the family.
A bit about the role:
As a Sous Chef, you'll be backing up our Head Chef and helping lead the team across daily service and events. Think high-volume à la carte, epic long lunches, and the odd wedding thrown in. You'll be expected to bring some solid skills, a calm head, and a genuine love of cooking.
What you'll be doing:

Helping create menus we're proud to put our name to

Supporting the team and stepping up when the Head Chef isn't around

Keeping service smooth and standards high

Staying on top of stock, ordering, and kitchen systems

Creating a positive, supportive kitchen culture
What we're looking for:

Previous experience in a similar role (ideally somewhere busy)

A love of fresh, seasonal food and smart cooking

Strong leadership skills and a good dose of patience

A clear understanding of food safety and kitchen operations

Willingness to work weekends and get stuck in when it's busy
