They are becoming increasingly integrated into how we deliver accessible, timely care to patients in need—providing an alternative to emergency departments for non-life-threatening conditions. By offering fast, effective treatment in a community-based setting, Urgent Care Centres play a critical role in supporting the broader healthcare system and easing pressure on hospitals.
As an Urgent Care Registered Nurse, you will play a pivotal role in the delivery of timely, high-quality care. Working closely with the Urgent Care medical practitioner, you will:
- Assess and triage patients on arrival to determine service suitability

Your Responsibilities
- Responsible for Triage of all patients who present to Urgent Care
- Conduct comprehensive and accurate nursing triage
- Act promptly for any triaged patients requiring emergency escalation or due to deterioration.
- Perform procedural work such as suturing and plastering
- Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability for the dynamic Urgent Care environment.
- Deliver high-quality, person-centered care in collaboration with patients, families, carers, and medical practitioners.
- Ensure patients achieve desired clinical outcomes.
- Provide essential health education to patients.
- Complete all documentation accurately and promptly.
About You
- AHPRA Registered Nurse.
- Must be available evenings and weekends.
- You will be required to provide a Working with Children Check and National Police Check.
- Previous experience in triage within an emergency department preferred but not essential.
- Please apply if you have experience in remote nursing, coronary care, critical care, ICU, or a minimum of 3 years of experience in acute care settings.
- 3 years' experience as an RN preferred.
- ICU nursing experience is welcomed.
- Ability to assess and recognise health deterioration and escalate appropriately.
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written and a high level of critical thinking.
- Can work autonomously and delegate when appropriate.
- A passion for people with a personable approach.
This role is ideal for nurses with advanced assessment skills, clinical decision-making experience, and a passion for providing care in a high-acuity, team-based setting. The onboarding process includes paid training in Triage with the Australasian Triage Scale for those transitioning into the urgent care space.
