Rix Asset Maintenance are looking for an ambitious and motivated Project Engineer to join our Cairns team.

You will be responsible for providing onsite engineering support and assisting the team in the day-to-day delivery of Slope Stabilisation/Ground Engineering project.

Reporting to the Project Manager your responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborate closely with the on-site project team to ensure timely project delivery within budget and schedule constraints
  • Manage construction planning and scheduling
  • Conduct inspections, complete QA documentation, and maintain reporting standards
  • Coordinate subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring compliance with project requirements
  • Monitor costs, prepare monthly progress claims, and generate reports
  • Monitor and review the performance of direct reports and provide leadership, mentoring and coaching
  • Engage with clients and stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery

Essential Skills and Attributes

  • Tertiary Qualified in Engineering / Geotechnical Engineering
  • Minimum 3 years relevant experience on Australian Tier 1 construction/engineering, infrastructure and/or resources projects, with ground engineering experience/exposure being highly favourable
  • TMR and RMS specification experience is highly regarded
  • You MUST have a current open (full) Driver's Licence and Construction White Card
  • You will be required to undertake a full pre-employment medical health screen including drug and alcohol screening.
