FCC Construction Australia has been selected as the principal Contractor on Queensland's largest ever social and affordable housing project. The Project will be the largest modular building development constructed in Australia to date.
Please note that this role is full-time site-based, requiring you to be present at the Project site located in Woree, Cairns (Woree).
The Role:
We are currently seeking a dedicated Graduate Engineer resource to support our end-to-end project delivery. Ideally the successful candidate would be available to start ASAP.
You will contribute to quality assurance and procurement activities and assist in coordinating subcontractors on-site. You will collaborate closely with site supervisors, offering engineering and technical assistance.
Whilst this role will initially support our Cairns-based project, longer term, you will support other projects within our robust pipeline gaining exposure to infrastructure projects across diverse sectors with opportunities to work in metropolitan and regional locations.
More specifically this role will entail:
- Coordinating day to day activities and serving as a point of escalation for both critical and non-critical incidents.
- Managing subcontractor work packages, which includes coordinating on-site activities across various work fronts and disciplines.
- Facilitating the delivery of materials, along with tracking and reporting their status.
- Conducting quality inspections and reviewing work, including the completion of Inspection Test Plans (ITPs).
- Tracking of daily progress and productivity and reporting.
- Contributing to the program of works by providing updates on completed tasks and future activities.
To value-add, it's important you have a proactive "can do" attitude and look to take the initiative to get involved with ad-hoc tasks and proactively seek additional work.
Competencies we're seeking:
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or equivalent.
- Relevant civil construction/site experience highly beneficial.
- Have a sound understanding of typical construction specifications used in the Australian construction industry.
- Excellent stakeholder management experience.
- Driver's license and own transport.
- Valid Driver's license
