Love the heat of the kitchen and the buzz of the beach? The iconic Burleigh Heads Hotel is searching for a skilled and motivated Sous Chef to join our vibrant team and help lead our all-day dining operation in one of the Gold Coast's most loved venues.
About UsSet just steps from the sand in beautiful Burleigh, our hotel is a local institution known for its coastal pub-style menu, high-volume service, and welcoming community vibe. We serve breakfast through to late-night bites, with a focus on fresh, approachable food done well.
The RoleAs Sous Chef, you'll work closely with the Head Chef to manage the day-to-day running of the kitchen, from morning prep to evening service. You'll lead by example, help guide a passionate team, and ensure every dish that leaves the pass meets our high standards — whether it's brunch, burgers or the nightly special.
Key Responsibilities-
Oversee kitchen operations across all-day dining service

Lead and support the kitchen team, especially during peak periods

Uphold consistent quality, portion control, and presentation

Assist with stock ordering, inventory, cost control, and compliance

Drive menu development and contribute fresh ideas

Maintain kitchen cleanliness and food safety standards at all times

Help manage staff rostering and training

Proven experience as a Sous Chef or senior CDP in a high-volume venue

Hands-on leadership style with excellent communication skills

Genuine passion for food, hospitality and working with seasonal produce

Experience across breakfast, lunch and dinner services

Strong understanding of food safety and HACCP procedures

Reliable, flexible and able to thrive under pressure

Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery (essential)

Food Safety Supervisor certification (preferred)
