Job Description Overview

Sitchu is a fast-growing lifestyle brand that helps people live their best lives through inspiring content across digital, print, EDMs, and social. We're all about uncovering the best places to eat, stay, shop, and explore.

We're on the hunt for a talented and creative Sydney Editor with a strong visual eye, digital expertise, a love for all things local, and exceptional writing skills. If you know Sydney inside and out—from buzzy new openings to hidden gems—and can craft compelling content that engages and excites, this role is for you

Reporting to the National Editor, you'll oversee content for Sydney and Canberra while supporting national editorial efforts.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute content strategies in line with Sitchu's brand direction and goals
  • Write, edit, and curate engaging content across digital, print, EDMs, and social
  • Produce and implement EDM and social content in line with editorial and social strategy
  • Manage and refine contributions from freelance writers
  • Optimise content for SEO and audience engagement
  • Contribute to new Sitchu projects
  • Build and maintain relationships with PRs, clients, and industry contacts
  • Represent Sitchu at industry and client events

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years proven experience in content creation, editing, and digital publishing
  • Strong writing, proofing, and storytelling skills with a sharp eye for detail and a keen eye for a unique angle
  • Creative thinker who can adapt quickly in a fast-paced digital environment
  • Highly self-motivated, with initiative and problem-solving skills to work independently
  • Strong organisational and time management skills—juggling multiple projects with tight deadlines
  • A solid understanding of SEO, analytics, and audience engagement is a must
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to foster PR, client, and industry relationships
  • A passion for Sydney's lifestyle scene, with a strong local knowledge of the city and wider state of NSW as a whole

Details:

Position: Full-time, permanent

Working hours: Monday-Friday, 9 am – 5:30 pm (attending events outside these hours from time to time and work-from-home flexibility).
