As a Senior Advisor (WHS), you'll step into a pivotal role where your insights and leadership will directly support the safe delivery of infrastructure projects across Queensland's vibrant South Coast Region.

In this role, you'll be the go-to expert for contractor safety assurance, working closely with project and contract managers within the Infrastructure Management and Delivery (IMD). You'll play a key part in ensuring that principal contractors meet the highest standards of health and safety performance on projects.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide expert advice and frontline support to project and contract teams.
  • Monitor and assess contractor WHS performance and risk management practices.
  • Lead and support site visits, inspections, and audits.
  • Drive continuous improvement through training, consultation, and incident review.
  • Collaborate with WHS practitioners and regional leadership to implement the IMD WHS Delivery Model.
  • Help shape a culture of safety by promoting best practices and compliance with WHS legislation and standards.

To be considered for this exciting role, you will need to bring:

  • A Certificate IV in WHS (mandatory).
  • A current Class C driver's licence.
  • Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, standards, and contractor safety governance.
  • Experience in construction or infrastructure project environments.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • (Desirable) Traffic Management qualifications.
