We have an incredible opportunity for a Regional Safety Professional to join our team. The area of operation spans from Nowra/Ulladulla in the south to the Hunter region in the north, it is expected that as a part of the role, travel will be required between these locations each month. You will form a crucial element of the Operations team in promoting the safety and wellbeing of employees through WHS policies and procedures, training and development along with continuous improvement practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Culture
-
Coach employees and partner with management to provide consistent safety messaging and initiatives.
-
Act as a key influencer in driving a proactive safety culture.
-
Engage with all levels of management and workers to embed safety and quality into daily operations.
-
Coach and mentor teams, shifting safety from a compliance task to an operational priority.
-
Work with the Group HSEQ Manager to support the HSEQ strategy in building a positive culture and continuously improve performance and compliance.
HSEQ Compliance & Risk Management
-
Ensure all policies and procedures align with ISO, and WHS regulations.
-
Lead audits, risk assessments, incident investigations, and root cause analysis.
-
Develop and review WHS documentation
-
Coordinate site inspections, emergency drills, and risk mitigation strategies.
Operational Support & Continuous Improvement
-
Provide expert HSEQ guidance across all levels of the business.
-
Prepare Work Method Statements and Safety Management Plans.
-
Monitor safety performance data to drive actionable improvements.
-
Maintain compliance records for fleet, equipment, and operational procedures.
-
Develop, and monitor system policies, procedures, forms, SWMS and risk assessments.
-
Maintain risk, compliance and incident management systems and data.
-
Support operations including meeting preparation, data analysis, presentations, and other administrative duties.
-
Assist with onsite induction and onboarding process.
To be successful you will need to possess:

Experience in safety systems and managing safety issues in a regulated, high-risk environment.

Knowledge of legislative requirements (Workplace Health & Safety, and Environmental)

A strategic thinker that is constantly looking at ways to ensure best practice and continuous improvement.

A natural people leader with proven experience in driving change, lifting performance and raising engagement.

Proven ability to manage a heavy workload under pressure with changing priorities.

Exceptional organisational skills.

Strong communication skills.

Drivers Licence
Desirable:

Cert IV in WHS/OHS or higher

Truck license

Vegetation Management experience
