The Role
We are currently seeking experienced Disability Support Workers to join our team exclusively servicing clients in the southern suburbs of Adelaide. This role is strictly limited to this region, so applicants MUST be based in or willing to work exclusively in the southern suburbs. If you cannot commit to working in this area, we kindly request that you do not apply.
The role involves providing person-centered care, assisting clients in their daily activities both at home and in the community, and promoting their independence and well-being.
Key Responsibilities
- Support clients with personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks.
- Assist clients in social, recreational, and educational activities.
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and the organisation.
- Follow person-centered care plans and adapt support as required.
- Maintain accurate documentation of client interactions.
- Respect the dignity, privacy, and rights of clients at all times.
- Administer or assist clients with medication as per care plans.
- Provide transportation or support with travel arrangements for appointments and activities.
- Uphold safe work practices and report incidents within 24 hours.
Essential Criteria
- Experience supporting individuals with disabilities.
- Willingness to work exclusively in the southern suburbs of Adelaide.
- Commitment to Allcare's mission, vision, and values.
- Respect for the individual needs and preferences of clients.
- Effective communication skills with clients, families, and the organisation.
- Professional, reliable, and punctual presentation.
- Understanding of safe work practices and adherence to company policies.
- National Police Clearance (current or willingness to obtain).
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain before commencement).
- DHS Working with Children clearance (or willingness to obtain).
- First Aid and CPR certification (HLTAID011 & HLTAID012) (or willingness to obtain).
- Manual Handling certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Valid South Australian driver's licence and reliable, roadworthy vehicle.
- Medication Administration Training (or willingness to obtain).
- Strong time management and documentation skills.
Desirable Criteria
- Certificate III in Individual Support or relevant qualification.
- Experience in person-centred planning and behaviour support strategies.
- Competence in using Outlook, Word, and mobile apps.
