Position Overview: As a Full-Time Chef at The Essendon Hotel, you will play a pivotal role in our kitchen, collaborating with a talented team of chefs to deliver unforgettable dining experiences. From menu planning to execution, you will showcase your expertise in culinary arts while maintaining the highest standards of quality and presentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, ensuring adherence to recipes and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team on menu planning, ensuring creativity and guest satisfaction.
  • Monitor food inventory and maintain kitchen hygiene and safety standards.
  • Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
  • Adhere to all sanitation and food safety regulations.
  • Ensuring that all food is of excellent quality and served in a timely manner.
  • Planning the menu, keeping in mind budget, and availability of seasonal ingredients.
  • Overseeing all kitchen operations.
  • Coordinating kitchen staff, and assisting them as required.
  • Training staff to prepare and cook all the menu items.
  • Taking stock of ingredients and equipment, and placing orders to replenish stock.
  • Enforcing safety and sanitation standards in the kitchen.
  • Creating new recipes to keep the menu fresh.
  • Keeping up to date with industry trends.
  • Receiving feedback and making improvements where necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Chef in a reputable hotel or restaurant.
  • Culinary degree or equivalent training preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of various cooking techniques and cuisines.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure.
  • Passion for delivering exceptional culinary experiences.
