We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated
Contracts Administrator
to join our high-performing team based in
Tasmania
.
This is a key role in ensuring the effective management, negotiation, and administration of our commercial contract and the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the overall success of the project.
Project Scope
The NWTD project covers the construction of new 220kV transmission lines between Palmerston, Sheffield, Burnie, and Heybridge, along with decommissioning existing lines and realigning sections of the current network. It includes OPGW interconnections at Ulverstone, Stowport, and Paloona. Key 22kV distribution upgrades involve underground feeder installations and augmentations around Burnie and Emu Bay. Substation works include upgrades at Burnie, Palmerston, and Sheffield, plus a new 220kV GIS switching station at Heybridge. Protection and control systems will also be modified at several remote substations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the project team with compilation, submission, close out of SI's, claims etc Assess subcontractor variation and payment claims.
- Assist the estimating team with contract negotiations, ensuring timely review and approval and/or reconciliation of variations.
- Administer upstream claims to protect contractual entitlements and ensure policy compliance.
- Attend weekly project management meetings and review progress, budget and resources on the various projects and assist Management by providing solutions for on-going issues and developing effective change management processes as required.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to drive improvements and risk mitigation.
- Monitor contract performance and implement practical solutions to ensure project success.
Essential Criteria
- Tertiary qualifications in Contracts, Business Law, or a related field (qualifications in Project Management or Quantity Surveying highly regarded).
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role, ideally within energy or infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of the AS4000 suite of contracts and relevant legislation, including safety and security of payment.
- Proven experience in commercial negotiation and client relationship management.
- Sound understanding of planning and scheduling principles (Primavera P6 desirable).
- Hold a high level of attention to detail and excellent computer skills.
- Excellent time management, communication, and presentation skills.
- Have strong communication and negotiation skills to liaise with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Solid understanding of Occupational Health & Safety practices.
