Junior Accounts Payable Officer

Position summary

Cooper Grace Ward has a great opportunity for an organised Junior Accounts Payable Officer to join our Finance team where you would provide timely and accurate financial and administrative support to our authors. This role is key to delivering high-quality, personalised service to clients across the firm.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Inputting invoices for CGW, Barea and CGW Nominees with correct allocation to expense codes
  • Processing creditor payments via electronic funds transfer and cheques
  • Reconciling supplier statements
  • Managing weekly team reimbursements by EFT and general matter payments
  • Handling electronic fund transfers between General, Barea, Trust, credit cards account and CGW nominees
  • Processing corporate credit cards and managing petty cash with reconciliations
  • Assisting with minor journal entries and monthly printing allocations
  • Supporting file closure and reopening processes
  • Contributing to any additional tasks ensuring smooth business operations

About you

  • Experience in accounts payable within a professional services setting is advantageous, though not mandatory
  • High proficiency in MS Word and MS Excel
  • Excellent customer service skills with clear and effective communication
  • Great attitude with the ability to exercise initiative
  • A general enthusiasm for finance and a willingness to continuously learn and develop your skills
  • Ability to work autonomously but most importantly as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail, with a strong sense of integrity and discretion when managing sensitive financial information
