Pandus Restaurant located in Footscray and Clayton in Victoria is a well established full service licensed Indian restaurant specialising in Indo-Chinese food. We are open seven days a week for breakfast, lunch, dinner, functions and events and take-a-way services and seek a full-time chef, restaurant cook and restaurant manager to join our team.

CHEF [Full time - 38 hours per week]

The successful applicant will

  • Prepare, season and cook food according to the restaurant's standard recipes

  • Be competent in safe use of kitchen plant, equipment and techniques

  • Be conversant with all aspects of menu planning and actively involved in developing the restaurant's standard menus including waste management

  • Have the ability to pass skills and knowledge onto other chefs and cooks

  • Be responsible for the operation of the kitchen in the absence of the head chef

  • Demonstrates a knowledge and understanding of HACCP and OHS principles and legislation

  • Have at least 3-5 years relevant work experience in a full service restaurant; experience in Indo-Chinese food will be well regarded

  • Be appropriately qualified; The Diploma in Hospitality and Certificate III of Asian Cookery will be well regarded

  • Have a strong understanding of the operational management of a busy kitchen including costing, stock taking, cost control, ordering, waste minimization and rostering.

  • Be responsible to the head chef

Annual earnings for the chef will be between $75,000 to $80,000 plus superannuation depending on qualifications, skills and work experience.

COOK [Full time - 38 hours per week]
