About the role:

As the Governance Officer you will be responsible for:

  • Preparing and publishing Council documents including agendas, business papers, reports and minutes–for all Council and Committee meetings.
  • Attending Council and Committee meetings and other Council forums as required (predominantly Tuesday evenings).
  • Manage the City's Council meeting processes ensuring compliance with relevant internal protocols and statutory requirements. You will provide efficient and confidential administrative support to Council and the Governance Department.

Other duties include:

  • Coordinating responses and actions arising from Ordinary Council Meetings and Standing Committee meetings.
  • Ensure all preparatory work for relevant meetings meets the required standards.
  • Actively seek and report on methods of improving systems of work, policies and practices, to ensure the continuous improvement of the City's Business Management System.

About you:

To be successful in this role you will have relevant experience at an equivalent level, including agenda preparation, minute taking, provision of administrative support to a Council and/or committees together with your proven ability to effectively prioritise tasks to meet strict deadlines, apply attention to detail allowing completion of tasks to a high level of accuracy and work well in a high performing team.  DocAssembler experience will be highly regarded.
