We are looking for a Financial Planning Associate who would like to progress their career in financial planning. You will be working with a small team at a highly respected and growing practice. The successful candidate will directly assist the financial adviser based on the Sunshine Coast.

The role would suit an individual with 1-3 years' experience in a similar role, a graduate, or CSO (with back-office research/insurance experience) who is looking to broaden their  knowledge base.  You would ideally have a good understanding of the Financial Planning industry and have tertiary qualifications that support your career aspirations.

About the role

  • Assist Financial Advisers in the development, preparation and implementation of financial advice

  • Attend client meetings where applicable (Initial, advice presentation, and annual review)

  • Manage the overall client relationship and communication process, ensuring regular contact and the provision of a professional and personalised service.

  • Conduct advice research to support development of advice strategies in preparation for our paraplanning team

  • Liaise with clients and advice team to help complete post meeting action items

  • Regularly update client database (Xplan and WorkSorted) with current client information.

  • Be mentored and develop the knowledge and skills as required.

  • Client service and administrative support when required.

To be successful in this role you would ideally have:

  • Experience working with clients (potentially including advice)

  • Skills in Xplan

  • Insurance research knowledge

  • Organisation and administration skills, ability to prioritise

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Ability to manage a task from inception to completion

  • Initiative and self-discipline

  • Strong relationship skills: in particular, empathy and excellent, communication listening skills

  • Good communication skills (verbal and written)

  • Developing networking and prospecting skills

  • Desirable: paraplanning experience, personal interest in finance industry

Knowledge/Qualifications

  • A passion for a career in the Financial Services Industry;

  • A Bachelor Degree relevant to the industry

  • Industry experience essential
