About Us

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Japanese Speaking Finance Officer on behalf of our client, a well-established international organization with operations across Australia and the Asia-Pacific region. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a collaborative team and contribute to a broad range of finance and accounting functions. This is a full-time permanent position based in Sydney CBD. Hybrid working arrangements are available once onboarding is complete and the individual is settled into the role.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine operational tasks related to loan funding settlements for group entities.
  • Assist with cash flow and funds management, including foreign currency transactions.
  • Support cash pooling operations and coordinate with group entities via email and funding processes.
  • Handle banking, accounting, and tax-related tasks for group companies.
  • Process daily international and domestic payments, accounts payable journal entries.
  • Liaise with banks regarding FX contracts and trade loan applications.
  • Monitor daily cash flow across multiple currencies and bank accounts.
  • Conduct bank and account reconciliations, balance confirmations.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, journal entries, BAS and PAYG.
  • Assist with monthly and quarterly closing procedures and reporting.
  • Maintain online banking user access and support internal/external audits.
  • Provide ad hoc support to business units and contribute to team-wide tasks.

Your Profile

  • Some experience or knowledge in accounting and finance.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Japanese and English (written and verbal).
  • Intermediate skills in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Problem-solving mindset with a focus on process improvement.
  • High level of integrity, diligence, and a collaborative team spirit.
