Litigation Officer

We are seeking motivated Litigation Officers to join our Law Design and Practice teams.
As a Litigation Officer, you will manage a range of complex disputes, conduct in-depth legal research, draft court documents and correspondence, and represent clients as required. You'll work closely with legal counterparts, manage timeframes, and appear in proceedings involving tax law, debt recovery, and administrative matters.
You will work both independently and collaboratively to manage a range of litigation and legal advisory matters, while supporting senior litigators on complex cases. You'll contribute to the continuous improvement of litigation practices, policy development, and the implementation of technology and reporting enhancements, while actively sharing knowledge and supporting professional growth of early career team members.
You may be placed in one of the following teams:
- Office of the Chief Tax Counsel – Strengthens the tax and super systems by clarifying legal interpretation and application. Our insights guide the ATO, Treasury, Government, and courts on complex issues.
- Litigation and Legal Services – Manages litigation and provides legal advice on tax assessment disputes and the collection and recovery of taxation debts.
These roles may be offered on an ongoing or non-ongoing basis in Adelaide, Brisbane CBD, Hobart, Melbourne CBD, Perth or Sydney CBD.
