About The Role
Your mission? To become a master at understanding our customers and their unique preferences, guiding them through our extensive array of choices with ease. We pride ourselves on delivering an omnichannel retail experience that caters to our customers' diverse needs, ensuring that there's always something to meet their palettes and tastes when they walk through our doors.

We pay meticulous attention to every aspect of the customer journey, from the presentation and cleanliness of our stores to the thoughtful layout and merchandising of our products. As a Retail Sales Assistant, you'll be the architect of an environment where every detail contributes to a memorable experience.

Your role goes beyond the transaction—we're looking for individuals who can provide tailored advice and recommendations in person, over the phone, or via email. We believe in remembering our customers' favourites, ensuring that each visit feels like a personalised journey.

As part of our new "By The Glass" Concept store you will be embarking on a new journey with us at Blackhearts. Introducing a new element to our store will be the ability to try wines by the glass adding a hospitality dimension to the role whilst retail will remain the core element of the shop.

As a Retail Sales Assistant, You Will

• Deliver exceptional customer service experiences that are genuine and full of warmth.
• Discover customer preferences and needs to assist them with product selection.
• Maintain high levels of store visual presentation and cleanliness standards.
• Label and tag products with attention to detail.
• Demonstrate a high level of care when handling product.
• Ensure stock inventory accuracy, conducting investigations and the reporting of errors.
• Support stock management efforts by executing the efficient and accurate handling of stock delivery and pack-ups.
• Support the fulfilment and dispatch of omnichannel customer orders including customer enquiries and liaising with our delivery partners.
• Operate our POS system including cash handling.
• Constantly advance your own product knowledge by attending Blackheart's training and tastings to deliver advice that best connects our customer with the right product.
• Adhere to WHS standards and contribute to a safe and healthy workplace environment.
• As part of the By the glass concept - Serving wine and curating a small in store hospitality offering

What are we looking for in the ideal candidate?

• A passion for wine, beer and spirits and a thirst to deepen your product knowledge.
• A commitment to self-directed learning to build your understanding of good food and delicious drinks.
• A genuine curiosity and interest in people and a desire to meet their needs.
• Someone who possesses the empathy to genuinely understand your colleagues and customers. A team-player.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail, someone who is methodical and accurate.
• A keen visual merchandising eye.
• Self-motivated and efficient in the execution of daily tasks.
• The ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and to multi-task.
• Consistent availability and flexibility to support your team in times of need.
• Able to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Previous experience in a customer-facing role.
• Current RSA and hospitality experience
