Summary:

The Mechanic will be responsible for repairing, maintaining, and implementing mechanical systems and equipment in the manufacturing, transportation, and logistics industry. The ideal candidate should have a high school diploma or GED equivalent, vocational or trade school certification in mechanical repair or a similar field, and proven experience as a Mechanic in a manufacturing, transportation, or logistics industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose mechanical problems, carry out repairs and maintenance, and replace parts as necessary.
  • Undertake regular maintenance checks to ensure machinery and equipment is operating smoothly and efficiently.
  • Install and set up new machinery and equipment in accordance with specifications.
  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks such as lubrication and adjusting, to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
  • Carry out safety checks on equipment and report any anomalies or hazards.
  • Monitor and maintain supply inventory for assigned equipment to ensure availability of required parts and consumables.
  • Work with other members of maintenance team to test new equipment for functionality and safety.
  • Maintain an organized and clean work environment.
  • Document work orders and repair records to ensure accountability and transparency.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Vocational or trade school certification in mechanical repair or similar field.
  • Proven experience as a Mechanic in a manufacturing, transportation or logistics industry.
  • Proficiency in the use of hand and power tools.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic, electrical and pneumatic systems.
  • Familiarity with computerized diagnostic systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret technical manuals.
  • Attention to detail and ability to keep accurate records.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Committed to maintaining high-quality standards and adhering to safety procedures.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and respond to emergency call-outs.
