An exciting opportunity exists for highly motivated Health Information Services Officers to join our Medical Records team at Newcastle Private Hospital on a Casual basis.

As a Health Information Services Officer your responsibilities will include:

· Medical record preparation and retrieval within strict deadlines

· Provision of health information to internal and external clients

· Answering phone call enquires for patient information

· Filing and preparation of medical records and loose sheets

· Day to day functionality of the Health Information Service Department

· Participating in performance improvement activities

· Culling of medical records

· Scanning/photocopying information for various requirements

· Assist with medical record forms stock management & distribution

Essential Criteria:

· Excellent communication and organisational skills

· Ability to work autonomously and as a team member in a small team environment

· Ability to plan and work within deadlines

· Attention to detail

· Knowledge of Microsoft Office and General Computer literacy

· Prior experience in a Hospital or Medical Administration Role

Desirable Criteria:

· Previous experience within a Medical Records environment or dealing with confidential records

· Experience with the WebPAS patient information system

· Knowledge of basic medical terminology
