We're looking for a Guest House Manager. This position does not come up very often and it is a rare opportunity. This role will require someone with outstanding skills in leadership, has a passion for team dynamics and can juggle multiple projects at a time.
The Guest House Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating the operation of the student residential experience across the residential buildings throughout Brisbane. The person in this role will ensure a positive, healthy, and safe living/learning environment for students. Working closely with the Operations and Sales teams, the primary purpose of this role is to develop and maintain and ensure an environment conducive to social and community growth. Fostering a safe, engaging and supportive community for all residents.
Your key focus will be to:
- ·Recruit, train, and manage a team of Residential Assistants (RAs) of up to 10 staff.
- ·Monitor and manage the annual Resident Life Budget and have full oversight and accountability for this budget. This will include ordering supplies as required.
- Managing coordination of move in and move out for tenants.
- Routine inspections of apartments, including approving and attending to modification requests.
- Managing communication with residents, including concierge and after hours.
- Ensuring presentation and cleanliness of common areas is at a high quality and standard
- Reviewing, approving and implementing a diverse and holistic calendar of events, balancing core areas of support and resident interest.
- Manage the effective coordination of the resident experience across the business, including their behaviour, service level expectations and welfare requirements
Student One, Brisbane's smartest student accommodation provider opened in 2016 and has been providing a smart accommodation choice in the Brisbane CBD for students ever since. We currently own and operate three residential buildings in the CBD.
The successful candidate should also possess:
- An undergraduate or equivalent qualification in Hospitality, Hotel or Events Management.
- Demonstrated experience in hospitality management, including budgets, planning and implementation
- Hold a current QLD Government issued blue card.
- Current First Aid & Mental Health First Aid certification (or willing to obtain)
- Positive Pre-Employment Medical
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, with experience in database management systems (preferably StarRez or equivalent).
- Able to prioritise, multitask and keep organised within demanding times, holding a professional standard of customer service at all times.
- Experience in managing operational aspects, including recruitment, rostering, team management, procedures and logistics
- A minimum of five years' experience within a customer-focused environment
