Role DefinitionParticipates in the implementation and monitoring of Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) programs and associated policies and regulations under the direction of the Principal EHS engineer or regional Environmental, Health, Safety & Security (EHSS) manager. May also serve as an experienced SME (Subject Matter Expert) on EHS projects and assignments that are more complex and enhance operational performance and compliance under the guidance of senior EHSS team members.ResponsibilitiesIdentifies safety/health/environmental risks inherent in the organization's operations and establishes guidelines for mitigation of said risks.Assists in training employees on EHS guidelines, company policies and procedures, and regulations pertaining to EHS. Ensures EHS training is completed to comply with regulatory requirements or in support of region, division, or enterprise objectives. Identifies gaps in existing training and offers solutions to address those gaps.Audits safety/health/environmental programs for compliance with company standards, government regulations, and adequacy relative to local conditions.Produces accurate metrics for use by the leadership for trending and information purposes. Monitors periodic performance reports for trends and conditions, alerts line management to problems and makes recommendations for improvement.Must be able to travel >50% (Domestically across Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea)Degree RequirementDegree or equivalent experience desiredSkill DescriptorsRisk Management: Knowledge of processes, tools and techniques for assessing and controlling an organization's exposure to risks of various kinds;
