Forensic Disability Services, part of Statewide Disability and Housing Operations, supports people with cognitive disabilities involved in the justice system through targeted interventions that reduce reoffending and improve quality of life.

THE ROLE

Reporting to the Director, Forensic Disability Services, the Chief Clinician leads the Forensic Disability Clinical Services program and guides the delivery of evidence-based interventions for clients with complex needs. This includes managing clinical teams, overseeing assessments, treatment plans, and outcomes, and engaging with key stakeholders such as courts, parole boards and statutory bodies. The Chief Clinician is responsible for performance management, staff development, and ensuring compliance with legislative and programmatic requirements. The role also contributes to service innovation by developing and evaluating assessment tools and embedding best-practice therapeutic principles to meet emerging needs in this highly specialised area.

This is an NDIS Risk Assessed Role / This is a Key Personnel Role.

Staff appointed to this role at the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing may not commence in role until they have an NDIS Worker Screening Clearance and have provided this detail for recording.
