Architectural Draftsperson – Residential Design

Location: Port Melbourne, VIC

Salary: $90,000 – $110,000 + Super (depending on experience)

Hours: Full time, Monday–Friday

About the Opportunity

We're looking for a passionate and detail-driven Architectural Draftsperson to join a leading residential builder renowned for its innovation, modern design, and quality homes.

This role suits someone who loves turning concept designs into reality developing master plans, working drawings, and documentation that bring design visions to life. You'll be part of a collaborative team that values creativity, precision, and forward thinking.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Develop concept designs into full working drawings and master files
  • Produce detailed documentation for individual jobs (including site plans, energy ratings, and permit requirements)
  • Update drawings to incorporate variations, feedback, and regulatory changes
  • Liaise with architects, designers, engineers, surveyors, and construction teams
  • Ensure designs comply with NCC, Building Regulations, and Developer Guidelines
  • Continually improve and update master drawings for new designs and façades
What We're Looking For
  • Proven drafting experience within the residential building industry (volume or custom homes preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of NCC, Small Lot Housing Code, and relevant Building Regulations
  • Revit proficiency (ability to create templates from scratch is ideal)
  • High attention to detail and strong time management skills
  • Creative problem solver who thrives in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
