About the Role
An exciting opportunity exists to work with Judicial Registrar Conidi within the Costs Court at the Supreme Court of Victoria, commencing approximately October 2025. The Judicial Registrar hears a variety of costs matters arising out of both the Commercial Court and Common Law Division. Judicial Registrar Conidi also conducts judicial mediations with the support of his Associate. Hybrid working and additional leave entitlements are a feature of this role.
Judicial Registrar Conidi is seeking a legally qualified individual to be his Associate. This role is responsible for a high administrative workload; as such, the successful candidate will require excellent attention to detail, strong written and oral communication skills, organisational skills, and the ability to work in a team environment.
The Associate will be required to provide high-level legal support and administrative services to the Judicial Registrar and the Costs Registrars, both in chambers and in the courtroom. Legal qualifications, high-level research skills, proficiency with Zoom and Microsoft applications, and post-admission experience are preferred.
Duties include:
- Maintaining electronic court files and case management systems
- Attending judicial mediations
- Legal research
- Managing the Judicial Registrar's diary
- Clerking in court (including virtually)
- Liaising with judicial officers, practitioners, court staff, and members of the public
About You
To be successful in this role you should possess excellent written and oral communication skills, personal qualities suitable for liaising with the profession and members of the public, as well as a strong academic record. Two years post-graduation experience is desirable.
The successful applicant will have the opportunity to gain invaluable experience at the Court and contribute to the administration of justice
