About The Role
The Early Years and Youth Branch is seeking a part-time Clinical Assessment Officer. The position is responsible for undertaking comprehensive assessments in client's homes for people that are 65 years or older (50 years or older for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people) who require assistance with everyday tasks.

Working as part of a consortium under the Single Assessment System (SAS) which has been established by the Health Department to simplify and improve access to aged care services. The role will work closely with the consortia partners and their staff to ensure service consistency. This position works alongside the Non-Clinical Aged Care and RAC Assessors to deliver Comprehensive/Clinical Assessment Services in a streamlined client-focussed manner that supports the Assessment process and overall experience for clients.

The person we are looking for will have excellent communication skills, interpersonal and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage their own workload.

Skills And Experience Require To Perform The Role

  • Tertiary Qualification in a health-related discipline directly related to health, aged care or specialist area such as Allied Health or Social Work (Current unrestricted registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or other relevant professional association).
  • Minimum of 3 years demonstrated experience directly delivering services in aged care settings and/or to aged persons (such as geriatric evaluation, rehabilitation, palliative care, community nursing), including to people living with dementia and in community settings including work with culturally and linguistically diverse communities.
  • Demonstrated experience or knowledge of Aged Care Assessment.
  • Demonstrated experience or an understanding of My Aged Care and Commonwealth funded aged services.
  • Understanding and experience using the Integrated Assessment Tool with clients.
  • Current Driver's Licence and Working with Children Check.
