My client is a long standing accounting firm in Mt Gravatt (Brisbane South). They're one of Brisbane's largest non CBD firms with a strong reputation, steady growth and a culture built around professional development and genuinely looking after their team. They use Xero Practice Manager, have a mix of fixed fees and hourly billing, and offer flexible start and finish times based on a 37.5 hour week.

They have a wide range of SME clients from $1m - $10m turnover, plus larger private groups up to $50 million turnover. Staff have access to weekly internal training, external courses twice per year, monthly check ins with their Manager and a three year career plan.

About the role

Due to ongoing client growth, the Directors are seeking an Intermediate Accountant to join their Brisbane team. You'll prepare tax returns and financial statements for companies, trusts and sole traders. You'll assist Seniors with tax planning jobs and start building capability in advisory.

The role includes client contact across face to face meetings, phone calls and email. You'll work in a supportive environment with Seniors and Managers who provide regular feedback and guidance.

WFH flexibility is available. Staff can request work from home days under their open policy.

Experience required

  • Minimum 2 to 3 years experience in an accounting firm
  • Experience preparing financial statements and tax returns for companies, trusts and sole traders
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • CA or CPA studies supported with study leave and financial assistance
  • Xero experience preferred
  • Ability to work productively and autonomously
