Overview:

We are seeking a Procurement Manager based in Sydney for our client, to oversee procurement activities for large-scale Transmission and Distribution projects.

This role will be responsible for leading procurement strategies, supplier performance, and compliance, ensuring critical goods and services are delivered on time and within budget to support Australia's energy transition.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the full procurement lifecycle, including planning, tendering, negotiation, and contract awards.
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with project budgets, schedules, and quality standards.
  • Negotiate commercial terms with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure best value and mitigate risk.
  • Monitor supplier performance across cost, quality, and delivery to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Provide procurement reporting and insights to project leadership, supporting forecasting and cost management.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.

Required Experience:

  • Proven experience in procurement management within the energy infrastructure sector, ideally in transmission and distribution.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement processes, contract frameworks, and commercial principles under the Australian Standards framework.
  • Demonstrated track record in managing supplier negotiations and complex procurement packages.
  • Familiarity with high-voltage equipment and materials supply chains.
  • Experience working within multi-disciplinary project teams on large-scale infrastructure projects.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business, Commerce, Engineering, or a related discipline (preferred but not essential).
