Head of Sport Development

Key responsibilities include:
  • Manage and support AUSF club governance, club development and operations.
  • Oversee sport, recreation and fitness activities to deliver high performance, competitive and social sport to the University community that contribute to belonging, wellbeing and engagement.
  • Manage strong and effective relationships with key stakeholders and partners.
  • Be an active participant within the AUSF team and contribute positively to the inclusive and community-focussed culture at Adelaide University.
Essential Requirements
  • Working with Children / Working with Vulnerable People Check
  • Experience in managing staff including and/or the training, support and development of staff and volunteer groups.
  • Competency in using Microsoft Office Suite and website content management systems (CMS).
  • Excellent written communication skills including experience in report writing and grant applications and/or sponsorship proposals.
  • Confident communicator with people at all levels of seniority and backgrounds.
  • Strong time management and organisational skills with the ability to work autonomously, often to tight deadlines with defined outcomes.
  • Able to work effectively as part of a team with a willingness to deliver hands-on help as part of the team.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours as and when required. Weekend work may be required.
  • Proven ability to conceptualise, implement and evaluate innovative and evidenced-based sport and recreation projects.
  • Well-developed relationship and stakeholder management skills within a community or sporting environment.
