About the role

Banana Shire Council currently has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated experienced labourer to join our progressive Theordore Maintenance Team, where you'll benefit from ongoing training and development opportunities to support your growth and success.

You will be highly regarded if you have experience

  • Carry out general labouring duties
  • Install regulatory and other signage in accordance with project documentation and relevant standards
  • Undertake basic concrete works, including setup of formwork
  • Operate and maintain small items of plant such as vibrators, concrete saws, concrete mixers, mowers, weed eaters, pumps, etc
  • Operate vehicles, maintaining and servicing as required
  • Sound level of literacy, numeracy and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment under minimal supervision
  • Sound understanding of and commitment to EEO and WHS principles and practices

Compulsory qualifications

  • QLD class 'MR' drivers licence
  • General Construction Induction, White Card (formally known as a Blue Card)

Desirable qualifications

  • Plant/Equipment Competencies e.g. Roller / Loader / Excavator / Grader etc
  • Traffic Management Implementation Plan
  • Traffic Controller Licence
