The Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Designer to join our Engineering team. In this role, you will prepare electrical design and documentation for switchboards, modular switchboard rooms, control systems, and power distribution systems. Working closely with engineers and project managers, you will deliver accurate drawings, layouts, and schematics that meet industry standards and client requirements.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Create detailed electrical drawings (single line diagrams, schematics, cable schedules, termination diagrams) using CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, or EPLAN).
  • Support design processes for power, control, and lighting systems.
  • Interpret and apply electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Collaborate across disciplines to achieve coordinated project outcomes.
  • Assist in developing Bill of Materials (BOMs) and equipment specifications.
  • Maintain accurate drawing records and document revisions.

Key requirements:

  • Previous experience in a same or similar role, ideally with a manufacturing or industrial background
  • Certificate or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Drafting.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in electrical design (manufacturing/industrial/infrastructure sectors).
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D & 3D); Revit or EPLAN exposure highly regarded.
  • Strong understanding of Australian Standards (AS/NZS 3000).
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Desirable

  • Experience with modular switch-rooms or data centre infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with BIM workflows.
  • Electrical trade or site installation background
