The Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to join our Finance & Risk team on a part-time basis (0.8FTE). Reporting to the Corporate Services Manager, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of RWAV's financial transactions, payroll, reconciliations, and reporting.

This role requires someone who is:

  • Highly detail-oriented
  • Skilled at problem-solving
  • Confident in learning and adapting to new systems

You will play a key role in ensuring compliance with accounting standards, supporting internal and external stakeholders, and driving continuous improvements in finance processes. This role is a fixed-term 9 month parental leave cover.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage transaction processing functions, including Accounts Payable/Receivable, Payroll, Banking, Cashflow, Accruals, and Travel Expenses
  • Lead month-end close processes and assist with Balance Sheet reconciliations
  • Ensure compliance with all tax and regulatory requirements (FBT, BAS, etc.)
  • Provide relationship management with bankers, insurers, and suppliers
  • Support audits, cashflow management, and financial reporting
  • Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing, superannuation, and reporting
  • Identify and implement process improvements and system efficiencies
  • Maintain an up-to-date Chart of Accounts and financial policies

About You

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field, with at least five years' experience in a similar role
  • Experience in financial management and transaction processing (ideally within a not-for-profit)
  • Proficiency in Definitiv, XERO and Salesforce desirable.
  • Strong understanding of finance and accounting internal controls
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organisational skills
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships
  • Proactive, flexible, and able to work independently with attention to detail
