About the role
We are seeking a talented Accountant to join the FCA reporting to the CEO and working along side a small leadership team. As our Accountant, you will play a crucial role in managing the company's financial operations, ensuring compliance, and contributing to the organisation's overall growth and success. This is a full-time position based in our Melbourne office just near Carlton Gardens including a work from home policy that enables flexibility.
What you'll be doing
- Oversee the day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger management
 - Prepare and analyse financial reports, budgets, and forecasts to support strategic decision-making
 - Prepare monthly financial reports and cash flow for management and board
 - Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal policies
 - Liaise with external auditors and regulatory bodies to maintain accurate financial records
 - Process the fortnightly payroll for a small team of 12
 - Provide financial advice and support to other departments, helping them make informed business decisions, integrating with the membership database
 - Working with the CEO, identify opportunities for process improvements and implement efficient financial systems and controls
 
What we're looking for
- Qualified accountant with 6+ years of experience in a finance management role, preferably within a membership organisation or NFP
 - A true all rounder across all of the accounting functions with strong technical expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting
 - Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a commercial mindset
 - Willingness to be hands on working with our mighty team across the company
 - Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with stakeholders at all levels
 - Thorough understanding of relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and compliance requirements
 - Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
