Burnett Youth Learning Centre is currently seeking applications for a Chaplain or Youth Worker who holds a Light Rigid (LR) Truck licence, or is willing to obtain one.
This role includes student transport responsibilities (pick-up and drop-off), and BYLC will fully cover the cost of training and licensing for the successful candidate.
This is a unique opportunity to be part of a flexible and supportive environment where your skills can be used across several key areas. Experience in any of the above roles is highly advantageous, but we also welcome applicants who are eager to learn and grow into these responsibilities.
About Us:The Burnett Youth Learning Centre is a registered Special Assistance School (SAS), affiliated with Independent Schools of Queensland, situated on a 28 hectare farm just south of Bundaberg, Queensland. We are a Christian response to a local need and we are here to support young people who have disengaged or are at risk of disengaging from mainstream education. We offer young people the chance to learn in a supportive, alternative education setting which acknowledges and emphasises the unique God given value, goals and dreams of each individual.
Burnett Youth Learning Centre is grounded in Christian values, emphasising Healthy Community, Participation, and Respect. We strive to create an environment where students are prepared to achieve economic independence and flourish as they transition into adulthood.

About You:
- Passionate about promoting Christian values in a school setting.
- Proven experience in emotional regulation strategies (preferred, but not essential)
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, parents, and community partners.
- Commitment to creating a positive and inclusive school culture.
- Adaptable and willing to take on new challenges as directed by school leadership.
Qualifications:
- Relevant qualifications.
- Experience working in a school setting with a focus on relationships / behaviour management / student wellbeing or learning enrichment (preferred).
