Role Description

The Investment Banking Analyst is responsible for providing analytical and transactional support throughout the deal-making process, including mergers, acquisitions, capital raising, and restructuring. This role involves performing financial modeling, conducting valuation analysis, and preparing presentations and reports for senior bankers and clients. The Analyst works closely with clients to understand their financial needs, conduct in-depth market research, and evaluate potential opportunities. Responsibilities include building and maintaining financial models, drafting pitch books, conducting due diligence, and creating transaction-related documentation. The role also requires tracking industry trends, analyzing competitor performance, and providing insights that assist in shaping client strategies. The Investment Banking Analyst plays an integral part in the execution of transactions by providing critical data analysis, managing workflows, and ensuring that all deliverables are completed on time. This role demands a high level of attention to detail, strong financial acumen, and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Strong proficiency in financial modeling, including building DCF, LBO, and comparable company models
  • Solid understanding of financial statements, accounting principles, and corporate finance
  • Knowledge of capital markets, industry trends, and macroeconomic factors impacting deal flow
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and financial databases such as Bloomberg or Capital IQ
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex data into clear, actionable insights
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for preparing reports, pitch materials, and presenting to clients
  • Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines, manage multiple tasks, and handle high-pressure situations
  • Detail-oriented, with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and strategically
  • Collaborative mindset and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment
