ZA ZA TA is a place where worlds and cultures collide amongst a sprawling, colonial backdrop and buzzing open kitchen focused on ethical eating and conscious cuisine. The team are bringing the soulful vibe of Tel Aviv, a blend of Middle Eastern and Mediterranean cuisine, with a distinctly modern twist to centuries-old flavours.

The Gig

We are currently on the lookout for our next Breakfast Chef to come join us here at Ovolo Hotels. Reporting to the Head Chef, you will be assisting with the growth of our food offering, menu and workflow design. It goes without saying that our food will be paramount, but not like that all too-slick, corporate blah blah experience happening elsewhere in your traditional restaurant. We have a bit of personality, a bit of freshness, interesting and quirky, we shine and are always changing. This is a Full-Time role and will require flexibility within your availability. Your responsibilities will include but not limited to:

• Make the meanest eggs in town
• Consistently offer professional, friendly and proactive guest service while supporting fellow team members
• Setting up and cleaning down the kitchen after breakfast.
• Ensure the kitchen is kept clean and hygienic at all times.
• Ensure all stocks are kept under optimum conditions.
• Ensure all mis-en-place is always freshly prepared and on time.
• Ensure all dishes are being prepared to the correct recipe and to the correct quantity.
• Ensure the department is operated within the appropriate legislation and the appropriate records are maintained up-to-date.
• Personal grooming and appearance standards are met regarding cleanliness, sanitation and hygiene.
• Assist with producing menus and new dishes.
• Actively share ideas, opinions and suggestions in daily shift briefings
• Maintain proper rotation of product in all chillers to minimise wastage/spoilage
• Ensure storeroom requisitions are accurate

About you

You will ideally have experience as a Commis or Demi Chef before, looking to take on the next challenge in a unique environment. You will have a bright and bubbly attitude that will fit in with our fun and friendly kitchen team.
