Located 35km west of Toowoomba, the JBS Beef City Plant is part of the Beef City integrated feedlot, processing and farming facility. The cattle are walked from the feedlot to the plant, minimising stress and transportation costs, while simultaneously improving eating quality – one of only two in southern hemisphere. Specialising in grain-fed beef production, the plant employs approximately 850 employees with a current processing capacity of 945 cattle per day and has a strong reputation for producing high quality grain fed beef for key domestic and international customers.

About the Role

The JBS Beef City Feedlot is currently recruiting an experienced welder to join our busy Maintenance Team. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, this is a full-time position working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday with optional overtime on Saturdays where available. (Both AM and PM shifts available.) Our conditions of employment are one of the best in the industry The annual salary for this role is more than $76,515 plus superannuation.

Your key responsibilities will include:

· Perform MIG, TIG, and stick welding on structural and mild steel components

· Fabricate and install custom metal panels, gates, and fencing systems.

· Conduct repairs and preventative maintenance on feedlot infrastructure.

· Interpret technical drawings and specifications to ensure accurate fabrication.

· Operate cutting, grinding, and shaping tools safely and efficiently.

· Collaborate with the maintenance and livestock teams to prioritise urgent repairs.

· Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to WHS standards.

· Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used.

· Conduct cost to produce analysis for new products and return on investment for new projects.

About You

· Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade (or equivalent).

· Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience in welding and metal fabrication.

· Demonstrated ability to read and interpret technical drawings.

· Proficiency in MIG, TIG, and stick welding techniques

· Strong understanding of workplace health and safety practices.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team in outdoor and rural environments.

· Physically fit and capable of manual labour in varying weather conditions.

· Experience working in agricultural or livestock environments.

· Basic mechanical or maintenance skills desirable.

· Must be energetic, passionate and enthusiastic with a demonstrated focus on system improvement and safety.
