Your New Role

The Project Accountant is responsible for delivering accurate, timely and insightful financial accounting and reporting across projects and divisions. The role ensures that project-level financial processes – including month-end close, general ledger reconciliations and financial forecasting are contemporary, accurate and compliant with organisational and statutory accounting policies.

Core Accountabilities:

  • Maintain processes to complete all project financial forecasts including Profit and Loss, Cashflow and Balance Sheet accounts as timetabled.
  • Responsible for month end project accounting processes for projects and divisions, ensuring relevant outputs are accurate and provided in accordance with month end timetables and standard operating procedures.
  • Coordinate monthly result reviews with Commercial Managers to ensure commentary and reports are timely, accurate and relevant.
  • Assist to provide insights, financial analysis, and uplift financial capability across the project delivery teams.

About You

  • Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
  • CPA/CA qualified or studying towards qualifications is desirable.
  • Experience in accounting or construction assets.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience gained in a finance/commercial environment
  • Understanding of project accounting methods such as percentage-of-completion, accruals and capitalization methods.
  • Knowledge of statutory reporting, taxation and compliance requirements in relation to construction projects.
  • Understanding of variance analysis and financial performance monitoring.
