The role

The purpose of the Women's Product Developer & Designer role is to take ownership of the seasonal products, particularly swimwear, from design phase through to receiving into the warehouse. 

You will work closely with suppliers, buyers, and other stakeholders throughout the production process and have a significant impact on the development and maintenance of high-quality product, ultimately managing production costs and driving company profit. 

What do you need to do?

• Liaise with overseas and local suppliers, managing the critical path of inhouse product to ensure timelines, quality and margin are adhered to and suppliers have necessary technical packs.
• Assist in following up suppliers in relation to sampling timelines and invoicing, providing weekly updates.
• Source new suppliers and negotiate supplier agreements under the guidance of the Women's Production and Development Coordinator.
• Oversee import logistics and costs, accounting for quality and accuracy of incoming samples and stock.
• Research and identify trends, enabling relevant and concise sourcing.
• Understand Supply Chain process, Intellectual property, copyright and trademarking requirements.
• Manage end to end production cycle of inhouse brands, including cost negotiation, terms of trade, delivery, product and supplier requirements and stakeholder engagement.
• Ability to prioritise and execute high volume workload with attention to detail and within given timelines.
• Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, with high attention to detail.
• Exhibit a deep understanding of construction, knowledge of fabrications and trims for categories.

What are we looking for?

• Must have youth fashion design and product development experience, similar brands are preferable.
• Must have experience with design/development of swimwear or activewear (similar fabrics).
• The ability to identify trends relevant to City Beach customers.
• Tertiary qualification in fashion, design or related fields highly desired.
• Previous experience in managing fashion production team, offshore experience is essential.
• Proficient in the Microsoft Suite and mid–high level competency with Illustrator and Photoshop CAD.
