Lutheran Homes Barossa services residents of Tanunda Lutheran Home and our Retirement living Villages, nestled in the heart of the beautiful Barossa. We are a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to caring for and enriching the lives of our residents. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Maintenance Person with a strong focus on gardening to join our team at our residential aged care home.
This is a meaningful role that helps provide a safe, beautiful, and welcoming outdoor environment for our residents, their families, and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain gardens, lawns, and outdoor spaces to a high standard.
Mowing, weeding, pruning, planting, and seasonal clean-up.
Use and maintenance of gardening tools and equipment.
Ensuring proper irrigation systems function effectively
Support with general maintenance tasks across the facility as needed.
Ensure all work is completed safely, with sensitivity to the needs of residents.
About you :
Proven experience in gardening, landscaping, or grounds maintenance.
A genuine respect and care for older people.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Good physical fitness and willingness to work outdoors.
Basic general maintenance skills needed.
Other Trade knowledge would be highly regarded.
A satisfactory police clearance for working in Aged Care less than 12 months old.
Experience in a similar role in the aged care facility or similar is highly regarded
Knowledge of WHS practices; understanding of infection control in aged care is a plus
Driver's license is a must for travelling between sites.
