About us
Hyne Group is a collective of industry-leading businesses operating across Australia and New Zealand, with a history spanning over 140 years. From its beginnings as a sawmill on the Mary River, Hyne Group has grown into a pioneer of sustainable timber product manufacturing. The Hyne Group is supported by its partnership with global timber processors, James Jones & Sons, bringing together a combined 320 years of family-owned sawmilling heritage.
The Group, which includes Hyne Timber, XLam, Rocky Point, and Hyne Pallets, serves key sectors such as construction, garden care, horticulture and logistics. Through innovative processes and sustainable practices, the Hyne Group transforms each log into high-quality products that meet the diverse needs of our customers. This holistic approach reflects a dedication to environmental stewardship and industry-leading innovation, ensuring that every centimetre of each log turns into an opportunity for excellence.
Your Next Role
As the Site Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in driving financial performance across our Queensland sites and associated warehouse operations. It's an opportunity to make a real impact while supporting one of Australia's most respected timber manufacturing groups.

- Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts with variance analysis and key business insights.
- Partner with site and operational leaders to understand performance and identify improvement opportunities.
- Provide clear insights into cost performance, production efficiency, and financial drivers to support decision-making.
- Develop and maintain budgets, forecasts, and financial models to support business planning and investment proposals.
- Maintain accurate fixed asset registers and monitor capital projects to ensure alignment with approved budgets.
- Ensure all journals, reconciliations, and reporting meet Group standards and deadlines.
- Continuously improve site financial processes and reporting tools for greater accuracy and efficiency.
- Collaborate across the finance team and broader business to support consistency, governance, and continuous improvement.
You will be based at our plant in the Tuan Forest, located in the beautiful Fraser Coast region. This coastal town offers affordable living and is proudly home to Queensland's greatest icons including K'gari.
About you
- Accounting degree with at least three years' accounting experience preferably in a manufacturing organisation.
