Master Builders SA is seeking a highly motivated GTO Administration Officer to join our team. If you're detail-oriented, thrive in a busy environment, and want to make a difference in the careers of South Australia's future tradies, this is the role for you.
About the Role
This full-time role reports to the Program Director- Future Careers and is central to supporting the entire apprentice lifecycle—from onboarding through to completion. You'll work closely with apprentices, host employers, field coordinators, and internal teams to ensure a smooth, compliant, and supportive experience for all parties.
As part of Master Builders Association SA's Group Training Organisation (GTO), you'll help facilitate the employment and development of apprentices by coordinating administrative processes with host businesses, trade schools, and government funding bodies.
As well, this role will support the GTO with their WHS responsibilities and support liaising within MBASA, relevant government stakeholders, Work Health Safety and Compliance Manager and team members. The role plays a vital part in strengthening the pipeline of skilled tradespeople in South Australia.
Your day-to-day will involve:
Supporting the processing apprentice timesheets and ensuring payroll accuracy
Managing apprentice suspensions, terminations, and completions
Coordinating trade school bookings, progress tracking and calendars
Supporting injury management and Return to Work (RTW) processes
Liaising with host employers for compliance documentation
Updating multiple systems including Workforce One, Airtable, CITB, SAHA and Atlas
Assisting with funding applications and government reporting
Coordinating "Apprentice of the Month" and "Host of the Month" programs
Providing day-to-day admin support to apprentices and host employers
Supporting Field Coordinators and internal departments as needed
Providing day-today WHS support to apprentices, GTO, and the team
What You'll Bring
Proven experience in administration (GTO or training organisation highly regarded)
Proven experience in supporting WHS (in the construction industry highly regarded)
Excellent organisational and time management skills
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
A proactive, solutions-focused attitude
Confidence using Microsoft Office and database systems
Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a dynamic team setting
Bonus Points for:
Familiarity with apprentice payroll or industry funding programs (CITB, SAHA, SAGTP)
Experience working in a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) or GTO
Knowledge of construction WHS, host employer documentation or injury management
