Senior Design Drafter: Water

Tonkin is currently seeking a highly technical and experienced Senior Designer/Drafter to join our East Coast Water Team. Specialising in water and wastewater projects, you will play a key role in delivering civil and mechanical design documentation for a wide range of infrastructure projects across Queensland, New South Wales and beyond. Our growing pipeline of large-scale, high-profile projects means we are looking for the best people in their fields to join us as we realise our vision to be Australia's infrastructure consultant of choice.

Our highly capable and growing East Coast Water Team is well versed in 12d model workflows, and are looking for another senior drafter or designer to join our team. Considered in equal regard, a comparable Civil3D user would also be highly regarded, especially one with a desire to provide technical coaching for junior and cadet drafting designers.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead design and drafting efforts across civil, mechanical, and structural disciplines for water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
• Produce detailed process and mechanical design documentation using AutoCAD and 12d Model or Civil3D.
• Collaborate closely with engineers to develop optimal, cost-effective designs for major water projects and other infrastructure projects.
• Apply your expertise in the design and detailing of water and wastewater infrastructure, pipelines, and pump stations.
• Utilise advanced software tools to streamline drafting processes and ensure high-quality outputs.

Key Qualifications And Experience

• Extensive experience in general civil design, particularly in water and wastewater infrastructure.
• A strong foundation in water and sewerage design, including pipelines and pump stations with a minimum of 5 years' industry experience using 12D or Civil3D, and AutoCAD in the design and drafting of Australian infrastructure projects.
• A desire to work on varying projects and technical elements.
• Contribute to management and prioritization of team workloads
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work both autonomously, and in a highly collaborative environment where your experience and influence will be valued.
• Desirable experience using: Inventor 3D, Revit, Plant 3D, GIS capabilities
• Familiarity with Sydney Water, Southeast QLD, South Australian or other Australian Water Authority drafting standards.

Job location
This role is based at either the Brisbane or Sydney CBD offices of Tonkin, with flexible/work-from-home arrangements possible.
