Bennett + Bennett is seeking a talented Urban Design Drafter to join our growing Urban Design team, based in our Brisbane office. This role supports a wide range of residential, mixed-use, and industrial projects across Queensland and beyond.
Your Role and Impact
Design Documentation: Prepare and refine detailed urban design drawings, concept plans, and subdivision layouts from early concept through to DA stages.
CAD Excellence: Apply strong technical drafting skills in AutoCAD / Civil 3D to produce high-quality plans and documentation that meet project and client requirements.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with our Principal Urban Designer and multidisciplinary teams (Planning, Survey & Development Compliance) to deliver coordinated design outcomes.
Efficiency and Accuracy: Maintain drawing standards, layer structures, and file management protocols, ensuring clarity, consistency, and precision across all deliverables.
Design Support: Assist with 3D visualisations, presentation plans, and design documentation to communicate concepts clearly to clients, councils, and consultants.
This position suits a technically proficient drafter or design technician with experience in urban design, development planning, and land subdivision. You'll play a key support role within an experienced team, contributing directly to project success while developing your own expertise.
What We're Looking For
Technical Proficiency: Strong skills in AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D are essential. Experience with QGIS, Adobe Suite, or SketchUp will be highly regarded.
Attention to Detail: Excellent spatial awareness and an eye for presentation, precision, and design intent.
Communication: Ability to interpret design briefs, follow markups, and clearly communicate technical information within a team environment.
Team Player: A collaborative mindset, with the ability to work efficiently and independently under guidance from senior design staff.
