Financial Accountant – Winslow Education

Winslow Education, a new business supplying art and craft resources to schools, is seeking a sharp and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to step into a hands-on role at a fast-paced, product-rich business with experienced leadership and strong growth plans.

You'll play a critical role in maintaining the integrity of our financial reporting, tax compliance, and accounting operations, while contributing to process improvements and systems enhancements as we scale.

About the Role:

This position is well-suited to a CA/CPA-qualified accountant with strong technical skills and a background in audit, business services, or industry. You will take ownership of core accounting functions and ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across the finance function.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver accurate monthly financial reporting and insights
  • Lead general ledger, reconciliations, and compliance processes
  • Manage payroll, GST, FBT, corporate tax, and other statutory returns
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and preparation of year-end accounts
  • Consolidate and present financial results at group level
  • Supervise AP/AR and ensure robust financial controls
  • Drive process improvements and support financial systems enhancements

About You:

  • CA/CPA-qualified with a degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
  • Strong technical accounting and compliance knowledge
  • Minimum 2-3 years of technical accounting and financial control experience
  • Background in audit, business services, or commercial accounting
  • Comfortable working in detail but with the ability to see the bigger picture
  • Strong systems capability with an interest in improving processes
  • Collaborative and clear communicator, happy to work cross-functionally in a small team
  • Australian citizenship or permanent residency required
