As a Lecturer at TAFE Queensland, you will play a pivotol role in shaping the future of education.  You will be part of a dynamic teaching team, delivering high-quality learning experiences that empower a diverse community of students to thrive

As the Lecturer Civil Engineering, you will be responsible for:

• sharing your extensive industry knowledge to students in a classroom or other educational setting; and
• delivery of units in structural design, modelling and the capstone project.

The position sits within the Civil Engineering team at our South Bank Campus and reports to the Operations Manager, Higher Education.

The offer is flexible as either casual or temporary for the right candidate and is available from early January to 15 May 2026.

Salary

The salary range for a Lecturer is $113, $126, gross) per annum plus superannuation contributions of 12.75% of your salary.

The range for casual rates is $ $215.20 per hour, depending on educational qualifications held and teaching experience.

Mandatory Qualifications/Requirements

Applicants must possess the following to apply:

• Possession of a doctoral qualification, a masters qualification or a bachelor qualification in a relevant discipline (Structural Engineering) at least one level higher than is awarded for the course of study being delivered; and/or
• Recognised equivalent relevant academic or professional or practice-based experience and expertise, except for staff supervising doctoral degrees having a doctoral degree or equivalent research experience; and
• Knowledge of contemporary developments in a discipline or field, which is informed by continuing scholarship or research or advances in practice; and
• Skills in contemporary teaching, learning and assessment principles relevant to a discipline, the role, and modes of delivery and the needs of particular student cohorts.

Note: Proof of qualifications and industry currency/experience to be provided at interview.

Highly Desirable Requirements

• Experience with Learning Management systems in a tertiary setting
• Knowledge and experience in geographic information systems (GIS)
