The Gig
An exciting opportunity is now available for an experienced, detail-driven, solutions-focused Civil Surveyor to join a leading civil contractor with a strong pipeline of projects across South East Queensland. Created to support business growth, this role will see you delivering pinpoint survey data that keeps projects accurate, efficient, and built to the highest standard.
Based out of the Brisbane office and reporting to the Survey Manager, you'll be out on-site turning plans into reality, operating advanced Trimble or Leica survey equipment, preparing detailed AutoCAD and 12D drawings, and working shoulder-to-shoulder with engineers, PMs, and site crews. You'll keep every line, level, and set-out spot on, ensuring projects run smoothly from the ground up.
Technical precision underpins everything you do, from setting out works and producing detailed drawings to verifying design data and resolving on-site challenges. You'll keep projects moving with accuracy, efficiency, and clear communication, ensuring survey outcomes meet the highest standards every time.
You'll be trusted with:
- Carrying out site surveys using Trimble or Leica equipment
- Producing accurate set-outs for civil construction works
- Preparing and maintaining detailed survey plans in AutoCAD & 12D
- Verifying design data and ensuring buildability on-site
- Collaborating with engineers and project managers to resolve challenges
- Managing survey data and maintaining quality assurance records
- Monitoring site progress to ensure works remain within tolerance
- Assisting with as-built surveys and final project documentation
- Training and supporting junior team members where required
- Maintaining equipment and ensuring calibration is up to date
What's in your toolbox?
- 2-5 years' experience in civil surveying, ideally in infrastructure
- Proficiency in AutoCAD & 12D drafting software
- Experience using Trimble or Leica survey equipment
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Current driver's licence and White Card
